I have a lot of fun with the E-Cones. I like doing exercises with them because the lights are pretty and it's fun not knowing how they're going to light up.

What is an E-Cone?
Arrow

The E-Cone is an advanced technological device designed to improve sporting, physical and cognitive performance, both in the field of sport and in medicine (e.g. rehabilitation phase). It uses innovative methods based on science, play and sport to stimulate and develop mental capacities such as concentration, memory, information/decision-making and reactivity, as well as improving physical activity.

What is the impact of cognitive training in rehabilitation?
Arrow

Cognitive training can play an important role in rehabilitation, helping to restore, improve or compensate for cognitive or physical functions affected by injury or illness, for example. Here are a few examples of the impact of cognitive training in rehabilitation:

  1. Restoring cognitive functions: Targeted cognitive training can help restore impaired cognitive functions by stimulating the brain regions associated with these functions. For example, after a traumatic brain injury, a cognitive training program can target memory, attention or problem-solving to help restore these abilities.
  2. Enhanced physical rehabilitation: Cognitive training can be integrated with physical rehabilitation to promote a more complete overall recovery. By working simultaneously on cognitive functions and physical abilities, we can achieve improvements in coordination, balance, motor planning and other skills needed for fluid, efficient movement.
  3. Prevention of age-related cognitive decline: Cognitive training can also be used in prevention programs to help maintain cognitive function in the elderly. Regular cognitive exercise can stimulate the brain, maintain neuronal connections and reduce the risk of age-related cognitive decline.

It's important to note that cognitive training in rehabilitation must be tailored to each patient's individual needs and supervised by healthcare professionals specializing in rehabilitation.

What is the impact of cognitive training in sport?
Arrow

Cognitive training can have a significant impact in the field of sport. Indeed, cognitive skills such as attention, concentration, rapid decision-making, working memory and problem-solving are essential for athletic performance.

Here are a few ways in which cognitive training can influence sport:

  1. Improved decision-making: Cognitive training can help athletes improve their ability to make quick and accurate decisions in the field. This can include recognizing patterns, evaluating available options and selecting the best action to take in dynamic situations.
  2. Strengthening concentration and focus: Cognitive training can help develop an athlete's ability to maintain concentration and focus on specific tasks despite external distractions. This can be particularly useful in sports that require constant vigilance, such as tennis, golf or combat sports.
  3. Improved working memory: Working memory is the ability to hold and actively manipulate information in the mind for a short period of time. It is important for following instructions, planning actions and retaining relevant information during sports performance. Cognitive training can help strengthen this ability and improve performance in tasks that require a strong working memory.
  4. Increased mental flexibility: Mental flexibility refers to the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and modify strategies accordingly. Cognitive training can help develop this ability, which can be beneficial in sports where athletes must constantly adjust to unpredictable opponents or variable playing conditions.

It should be noted that cognitive training in sport is often complementary to physical and technical training. Athletes can benefit from a combination of physical, technical and cognitive training to reach their full potential and improve their overall performance.

What is cognitive training?
Arrow

Cognitive training, also known as brain training or cognitive stimulation, refers to exercises and activities designed to improve and maintain a person's cognitive abilities, whether or not they are involved in sport. With its E-Cones, Drilllight generates a new form of training that combines sports practice and brain stimulation. It's also a highly effective tool for reathletization and rehabilitation.
